CQN Magazine is an independent, online, magazine published by and for Celtic supporters.

When football first organised itself into leagues and cups in the 19th Century, stories about games and club heroes were told by word of mouth. The game only found mass market appeal after newspapers started to write match reports telling stories of drama and excellence.

Generations of Celtic supporters have been consumers of sports media, from early radio broadcasts, through the decades of Saturday evening ‘pink’ edition newspapers, to the recent dominance of radio phone-in programmes and daily newspapers.

In recent years all this has changed.

Celtic fans have made inroads into taking control of how their club is reported. The old media model of a broadcaster or newspaper telling a story to their audience is broken.

CQ Magazine emerged from the blog Celtic Quick News, where Celtic supporters have been discussing and debating their club since 2004. The journalist in this new model is also the consumer of news and opinion.
